Ambient Dust Monitoring

AQMSGROUP specializes in designing, manufacturing, installing, and maintaining advanced continuous emission dust monitoring equipment. Utilizing several technologies including Light scatter, E-BAM Environmental Beta Attenuation Mass Monitor or tapered element oscillating microbalance (TEOM) is an instrument used for real-time detection of aerosol particles by measuring their mass concentration.

dust monitorsOur dust monitors deliver real-time measurements of dust and particulate.

Our systems provide accurate, reliable data, whether its boundary dust monitoring for a study to Australian standard dust monitor, we have you covered:

    • Comply with government regulations
    • Minimize emission exceedances
    • Protect their workforce and surrounding communities
    • Limit environmental impact
    • High volume dust sampling (HiVol)
    • Email and Txt alerts

Static Dust Deposition gauges should be sampled according to the following standards:

    • AS3580.10.1 Determination of particulates- Deposited Matter-Gravimetric method.
    • AS3580.1.1 Methods for sampling and analysis of ambient air Part 1.1 Guide to siting air monitoring equipment

Dust Deposition Monitoring : Ensuring Accurate Environmental Compliance.

AQMS Group offers comprehensive dust deposition monitoring services to measure and analyze localized dust levels in ambient air. Utilizing both Dust Deposition Standard Gauges and Directional Gauges, our monitoring services help industries track the amount of particulate matter settling from the air. This data is critical for ensuring regulatory compliance, safeguarding public health, and improving sustainability practices.

Our Dust Deposition Sampling and Analysis

Dust deposition monitoringThe process of dust deposition monitoring involves collecting particles that settle from ambient air over a given period. For accurate results, we utilize two different sampling periods:

  1. 30 days (April – October)
  2. 14 days (November – March)

Our gauges capture not only particles but also any rainwater that may accumulate, allowing us to calculate the mass deposition rate of deposited matter. From this data, we can determine the mass of total solids, including Insoluble Solids and Soluble Solids, to give a complete picture of dust deposition.

NATA Accredited Laboratories for Dust Deposition Analysis

At AQMS Group, we pride ourselves on our NATA-accredited laboratories for the sampling and analysis of dust deposition. We adhere to the Australian Standard AS/NZS 3580.10.1:2016 for particulate matter analysis, which includes the Gravimetric Method for determining deposited matter.

For Directional Dust Deposition Testing, we also follow the AS 2724.5-1987 standards.

Industries and Activities Requiring Dust Deposition Monitoring

Certain activities and industries generate dust that requires careful monitoring. Common sources include:

  1. Road and construction sites
  2. Industrial operations
  3. Remediation works
  4. Agricultural areas
  5. Landfills in urban areas
  6. Mining operations

By using our dust deposition gauges and comprehensive sampling methods, AQMS Group helps you track and manage dust emissions to meet environmental standards and improve air quality.

Nephelometer - forward light scattering based optical particle monitors

At AQMSGROUP we supply a range of economical, Nephelometer – forward light scattering based optical particle monitors for the monitoring and recording of PM2.5 and PM10 dust fractions, with the option for PM1, PM4.25 and TSP to meet your specific needs.

Designed to withstand various weather conditions, the monitor is housed in a weather resistant enclosure ideal for round the clock continuous outdoor monitoring.

Datalogging capacity at a minimum of 365 days at one-minute intervals with built-in log and forward capability to locally store the data in the event of a network disruption.

Integrating seamlessly with a web-based portal for remote data access, this secure data portal enables users to access monitoring logs, set customisable alerts, manage monitoring reports and more. The web-service application is accessible on both desktop PC and mobile smart devices.

Various power, mounting options, and additional accessories such as the AQMSGROUP Scientific Solar Battery Solution make the system a versatile choice for any dust monitoring application.

Key Features

TSP, PM10, PM2.5 and PM1 measurements (TSP comes standard, the others are options)

Instruments employs a unique combination of light extinction and light scatter to accurately analyse individual airborne particles. This allows the instrument to simultaneously measure all the PM size fractions with great accuracy.

Unlike fan-based samplers, our units have a proper pump, air filter, and accurate flow controller to generate a stable sample airflow. It also generates recirculated clean air to keep its optics away from dust and dirt contamination. Its proprietary long-life pump uses an ultrasonic mechanism and is virtually noiseless. The filter capsule is interchangeable and can be sent for material analysis of the collected dust.

To remove water droplets when sampling in damp or misty conditions, the dust monitor has a temperature-controlled heated inlet built in. The user can adjust the sample temperature set point. Or, if an ambient T & RH probe is fitted, the sample flow can be held at constant humidity.
